Support on the Personal Level: Workforce Development

Building up survivors from the inside out.

Women who have survived violence and exploitation are often left with long lasting consequences that create barriers to successfully healing and thriving. Some of those consequences may include an interrupted education, lack of job experience, and financial insecurity and dependence. We are creating a program that pairs economic and therapeutic principles to build up survivors from the inside out – equipping them for long-term financial success in their personal lives and in the workforce. The workforce development program includes wraparound case management services, a 4-week training program, and a business collaborative comprised of business owners and operators committed to being a part of the solution.

Why a Workforce Development Program?

The majority of funding and programming for survivors of violence and exploitation focuses on the rescue and the immediate assistance that is needed after. But in order to sustain lasting healing and wellness, services need to be in place to support long term independence. If there are no services in place to help survivors gain financial independence, survivors will remain vulnerable to violence and exploitation.

Our four-week training program.

A four-week intensive program to prepare survivors for workforce readiness. The goal is not just employment. I Rise seeks to assist survivors in discovering and achieving a desired career path and building skills to attain financial independence and upward mobility. Survivors who enroll in the workforce development program will receive access to:

After the completion of the 4-week program, graduates will transition into the workforce. I Rise will continue to work with graduates for up to three years to support continued success.
