We promote economic and social justice for women who have survived violence and exploitation, through creating supportive partnerships and a pathway to financial independence and upward mobility.

Many human trafficking and domestic violence cases involve financial abuse.

An overwhelming majority (99%) of domestic violence cases involve financial abuse. In human trafficking, financial abuse is a defining factor, with traffickers withholding money from victims, forcing quotas on victims, enforcing debt bondage, and creating a sense of total financial dependence on the trafficker. This is why economic justice is a critical element of I Rise initiatives.

Three-Pronged Approach

I Rise utilizes a holistic, trauma-informed approach that emphasizes addressing the needs of the whole person. To create lasting healing and change, support must be provided at a micro, mezzo, and macro level. We achieve this through:
